This is the mystery to be solved for Rockie and Big Girl. The first one was how to get Rockie to take care of his feathers. Spritzing in the morning wasn't a fun chore, Big Girl gets into it, Rockie not so much. Using my behavioral brain (Via SSA Office), we did overcome the negative outlook on bath time. The keets will never get there....hopeless :) The pet shop told me that they only spritzed Rockie every other day and Big Girl daily. I quickly changed that routine. Instead of bringing out the "dreadful" bottle of water. I make sure we use a bright pink or green bottle and it's our "fun" time.....Rockie still insn't the president of the fan club for daily spritzing, but we're getting there.
I have found of the past week and that these parrots don't know how to play. Forage bags with treats have become a mystery to Rockie and he eagerly awaits is bag that he can destroy to find the treasure inside. It's usually his favorite treat, walnuts or avicakes. Big Girl did attack the wood robot, his arms and legs are slowly becoming splinters....We're making progress, but teaching them to play is challenging, I don't want perch potatoes (quote from a magazine, wish I could claim that one....) Ha Ha...
So Long from the Anthony Nest!
